When I was 8 my uncle gave me an ukulele for my birthday.
He taught me two or three cords and a few songs. No Hawaiian, but childrenŽs songs.
After I grew older I learned more cords
and my uncle made me listen to Hawaiian music of Rudi Wairata. This is how I got interested in Hawaiian music.
Since 16 years I am the bass player and drummer for MaiŽana, together with my musical bodies
Wouter, Paul and Rob.
I certainly hope I will be able to do this for a long time.
